About Kristy Mezines

Pianist Kristy Mezines has captivated audiences with a distinguished career spanning orchestral, solo, and chamber performances. Making her debut at age 10 with the Kammergild Chamber Orchestra, she has since performed with esteemed ensembles including the St. Louis Symphony, Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, Town & Country Symphony, St. Charles Symphony, the Webster University Symphony. As a soloist, Kristy has graced venues such as The St. Louis Municipal Opera, Powell Hall, Sheldon Concert Hall, E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall, Christ Church Cathedral, Missouri State University, was the opening guest artist at the International Piano Pedagogy Teachers Conference in 2000, as well as a featured appearance on NPR’s “From the Top.”

A dedicated chamber musician, Kristy made her New York City debut at the Kosciuszko Foundation performing Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time” and has also performed at the Summerland Music Festival, Sona Beyond Concert Series, Artosphere Festival,  Cummer Family Foundation Concert Series, as well as presenting a recital at Powell Hall with the "Eyeglass Trio." She has presented at prominent conferences, including the International Women’s Brass Conference (IWBC), National Trumpet Competition (NTC), International Trombone Festival (ITF), She-Fest, and Regional International Tuba Euphonium Association (ITEA).

As orchestral pianist, Kristy has served as principal keyboard for the Artosphere Festival Orchestra, Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, and auxiliary keyboard for Symphony of Northwest Arkansas.

Kristy has collaborated with renowned artists such as Tom Hooten, Allen Vizzutti, Martin Schippers, Wiff Rudd, Tim Higgins, and Taimur Sullivan. She has served as faculty at the Luzerne Music Center, Northwest Arkansas Community College, and as staff pianist at the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith and University of Arkansas. She can be heard on the albums “Notes from the Underground” with Benjamin Pierce, “Mirrors” with Patrick and Jennifer Oliverio, “Undreamed Shores” with Andrew Harms, and "Impressions of France" with Douglas Lindsey.

 

A founding member of "Duo Solace" with Douglas Lindsey, and "Mother Chaos" with Jennifer Fox Oliverio, Kristy has extensively toured the country performing and premiering new works for trumpet and piano. 

 

Kristy currently resides in Kaufman, Texas with her sons Thatcher and Toli (and their dog Charli). In addition to her avid pling plonging, she works as a bookkeeper at Frenzel CPA.

Expect unexpected detours, lovingly controlled chaos, and a duo that never takes themselves too seriously—except when it comes to having fun.
